This Refund & Cancellation Policy applies to all Services provided by Modern Marketing (“we,” “us,” “our,” or “the Company”) through www.modernmarketing.in, including Meta Ads management, Google Ads management, e-commerce listing services, website development, email marketing, WhatsApp marketing, data extraction services, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), and social media management (collectively, the “Services”). This policy should be read together with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
We work with clients in India and internationally, and the principles in this policy apply regardless of your location, currency, or payment method.
1. General Principle
Digital marketing services involve ongoing work, strategy, and execution rather than a one-time deliverable in most cases. As such, refunds are assessed based on the stage of the engagement, the nature of the Service, and the specific terms agreed with you at the time of booking. Where a written agreement, proposal, or invoice specifies different refund or cancellation terms for a particular engagement, those specific terms will take precedence over this general policy.
2. Cancellation Before Work Begins
If you cancel a Service before any work has commenced (for example, before a campaign is set up, content is created, or development has started), you may be eligible for a full refund of any advance payment made, less any third-party costs already incurred on your behalf (such as domain registration, stock assets, or software licences purchased specifically for your project).
3. Cancellation After Work Has Begun
Once work on a Service has commenced, fees for work already completed, delivered, or in progress are generally non-refundable. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Advertising campaigns that have already been set up or are actively running on Meta, Google, or other platforms
- Content, creatives, or copy that has already been created
- Website development work already underway (design, coding, or content population)
- SEO work already carried out, including audits, on-page changes, or link-building activity
- Data extraction work already performed
- Any month of a retainer-based Service that has already commenced
In such cases, we may, at our discretion, offer a partial refund or credit reflecting the proportion of work not yet completed, less any costs already incurred.
4. Advertising Spend
Refunds under this policy relate only to our service fees. Amounts paid as advertising spend directly to platforms such as Meta or Google (where the Client funds the ad account directly or where we have already spent the budget on the Client’s behalf as agreed) are not refundable by us, as these amounts are paid to or spent on third-party advertising platforms and are subject to those platforms’ own policies.
5. Subscription and Retainer Services
For Services billed on a recurring or retainer basis (such as ongoing SEO, social media management, or ad management), cancellation requires written notice as specified in your service agreement or, where no specific notice period is agreed, at least 15 days’ written notice via email or WhatsApp. You will be billed for the then-current billing cycle in full; we do not provide pro-rated refunds for partial months unless otherwise agreed in writing.
6. Website Development and One-Time Projects
For one-time projects such as website development, refunds are assessed based on milestones completed at the time of cancellation, as outlined in your project proposal or invoice. Amounts corresponding to completed and approved milestones are non-refundable.
7. How to Request a Refund or Cancellation
To request a cancellation or refund, please contact us in writing via email or WhatsApp, using the details in Section 10 below, stating your name, the Service in question, and the reason for your request. We aim to acknowledge all such requests within 2–3 business days and resolve them within a reasonable timeframe thereafter.
8. Refund Method and Timeline
8.1 Current Payment Method
As we do not currently process payments through an online payment gateway, approved refunds will be issued via the same method originally used for payment – typically UPI or bank transfer – to the original payer’s account, within 7–10 business days of approval. For international clients, refunds will be issued via bank transfer or another mutually agreed method, and the Client is responsible for any currency conversion or transfer charges associated with the refund.
8.2 Future Online Payments
We intend to introduce online payment options in the near future, starting with payment links through Razorpay and/or Instamojo, with PayPal to be added at a later stage to support international clients. Once introduced, approved refunds for payments made through these payment links will be processed back to the original payment method, subject to the refund timelines and procedures of the relevant payment processor (Razorpay, Instamojo, or PayPal, as applicable). This policy will be updated to reflect the specific refund timelines of each processor once they are in use.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may revise this Refund & Cancellation Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our Services, payment methods, or business practices. Updated terms will be posted on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date.
